This block is for use with Bio-Rad DNA Engine Cyclers. The Alpha unit DNA Engine features an adjustable heated lid that can be set to seal pressure for different types of vessels and sealers. The pressure can be adjusted by a thumbwheel and the temperature is set with thermal cycler software. Temperature uniformity is provided by a multi-sensor and multi-zone temperature control which allows for consistent temperatures across samples and between subsequent runs. The Alpha units contain thermoelectric heat pumps and sensors to modulate temperatures of samples. A thermal cycler chassis delivers electric powers with an appropriate software control.
