The Agilent 1200 HPLC G1362A RID Detector is a HPLC refractive index detector (RID) detector that provides excellent performance for entry-level UHPLC and HPLC differential refractometer (DRI) experiments. This detector is a differential refractometer that measures the deflection of a light beam due to the difference in refractive index between the liquids in the sample and reference cells of a single flow cell. A beam of light from the lamp passes through a flow cell which is separated diagonally into sample and reference cells. At the rear of the flow cell a mirror reflects the light back through the flow cell and via a zero glass, which affects the path of the light beam, to the light receiver. The light receiver has two diodes each of which produces an electrical current proportional to the amount of light that falls upon it. Rapid equilibration times and stable baselines make it easy to analyze carbohydrates, triglycerides, organic acids, and pharmaceutical excipients. The Agilent 1200 HPLC G1362A RID Detector is the detector of choice for polymer characterization using gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and size exclusion chromatography (SEC).
The Agilent 1200 HPLC G1362A RID Detector also features optimized light levels, automatically adjusting the light intensity to compensate for lamp degradation and flow cell staining. Users can conduct automatic purging of the reference flow cell as well using programmable purge and wait times. This G1362A RID Detector features minimum baseline noise for excellent sensitivity and low limits of detection. Users may also utilize the recycle valve to keep the system at operating conditions, avoiding warm-up wait times and saving solvents.
