BioRad ALD-1244 Dual 48 Well Alpha Block
The BioRad ALD-1244 Alpha Block is a dual 48 well alpha block that can hold samples from 5–125 µl for two sets of 48 x 0.2mL tubes. This block is for use with Bio-Rad DNA Engine Cyclers. The Alpha unit DNA Engine features adjustable heated lids that can be set to seal pressure for different types of vessels and sealers. The pressure can be adjusted by a thumbwheel and the temperature is set with thermal cycler software. Temperature uniformity is provided by a multi-sensor and multi-zone temperature control which allows for consistent temperatures across samples and between subsequent runs. The Alpha units contain thermoelectric heat pumps and sensors to modulate temperatures of samples. A thermal cycler chassis delivers electric powers with an appropriate software control. You can easily transfer the Alpha units and protocols that are established from one instrument to other cyclers. With the dual-blocks you can control the units independently so separate protocols can be used simultaneously.
