The Epredia Cytospin 4 Centrifuge is a highly reliable and widely used laboratory instrument designed for efficient and precise cytocentrifugation. It enables the preparation of high-quality, thin-layer cell presentations from a variety of liquid matrices, including hypocellular fluids such as spinal fluid, urine, and other low-cellularity samples. For over 40 years, Cytospin technology has been a trusted solution in laboratories worldwide, providing consistent and reproducible results for cytology and pathology applications.
The Cytospin 4 enhances laboratory workflow by processing up to 12 specimens simultaneously, allowing multiple protocols to run at the same time for greater efficiency. It is fully compatible with protocols from previous Cytospin models, ensuring seamless integration into existing laboratory procedures. The user-friendly control panel enables precise adjustments to speed, ranging from 200 to 2,000 RPM, and time settings from 1 to 99 minutes. A removable program card allows users to store up to nine frequently used protocols for quick access, while the system’s protected memory retains 23 routines for instant recall, further streamlining workflow.
Utilizing centrifugal force, the Cytospin 4 effectively deposits cells onto a clearly defined area of a glass slide while simultaneously absorbing residual fluid into the sample chamber’s filter card. This process results in a monolayer presentation of all cell types, ensuring superior nuclear detail for accurate analysis. The instrument’s unique tilting feature enhances cell retention by preventing residual fluid from coming into contact with the prepared slide when in the “load” or “stop” position, thereby minimizing cell loss. Additionally, a built-in specimen safety alarm alerts users at one-minute intervals, reminding them to remove processed slides and prevent air-drying, preserving sample integrity.
Safety is a key aspect of the Cytospin 4’s design. The centrifuge operates only when the lid is securely locked, and the system remains locked throughout the entire spin cycle to prevent accidental exposure. A durable polycarbonate viewing window allows users to monitor the sealed head during operation without interrupting the process.
All of our equipment is fully tested to perform at factory specifications before being shipped.
